Projects with Purpose

2012 BBFI Missions Projects Offering

It is that time of year to consider what your church could do to help our missionaries that are involved with the Missionary Projects Offering. As you know, the main purpose of this offering is to help missionaries build homes and churches on the field. The greatest need that missionaries have today on the field is a home that improves their living conditions, which in turn will enhance their ministry. The rampant dollar devaluation coupled with inflation have put most of our missionaries in a severe financial bind when faced with paying the exorbitant rent charged on most fields. It has been so severe in certain countries that some of our missionaries have had to seek new fields of service due to lack of funds. Your project promise toward a home will help our missionaries with their greatest need and save God’s money with a wise investment in a home. The missionary would only be responsible for a small home maintenance fee each month that will take care of major maintenance, taxes and insurance.

You can also designate your project promise to help build churches on the field. In so doing, we can help the national Christians carry out the Great Commission until they can do the job themselves. This money for churches is not a loan. It is an agreement between the national church and the BBFI stating that they will participate in a revolving fund in order to help other churches. None of the money received from the national churches is used in any way for the States. It goes to a mission field to help build churches. It is not the responsibility of the missionary to repay; the missionary is merely the collecting agent. It is not subsidizing the national church without any financial responsibility on its part, nor is it a national church welfare program. It is training national pastors concerning financial responsibility, and a proven program that has passed the test of time. It is also good stewardship of God’s money.

Please pray about the
Missionary Projects Offering and get involved. You will receive at least one if not two mission brochures and a pledge card this summer. You can fill out the card and give it to me at the state meting, or mail it to me. Your pledge for the 2012 Missionary Projects Offering should be designated to the project(s) of your choice.
