What's the Purpose?

So why do we have MOBBF?  Today when we want resources, preaching or new ideas, we just have to go to our computers. Every month it seems like I get a new advertisement for a conference that looks great.  So, in our changing world, what is the purpose of "fellowship" meetings?  I think, if you were to ask Solomon, he would quote something out of a book he wrote.

Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up.

Solomon tells us that we get more done with others.  He tells us that when we stumble and fall, it helps to have a hand up.  He is clear that one thing we must fight is isolation. So, maybe this is one reason why we need to get together for  meetings. It is our declaration that we need each other.

Friendship and fellowship are costly. They do not come automatically. There is always a price to be paid when it comes to developing relationships. Our fellowship meetings come on "tired Mondays" during weeks where it seems we have more to do than we can get done.  Let us make a real effort to get together. We just might end up blessing each other.

I have been asked by our Chairman, Charlie Bell, to assist him in communication. An email is going to be sent to you regularly to keep you informed about upcoming meetings.  We will put as much or as little information as the host churches provides us.  At the very least, you will know where and when to show up.  I hope you will come. We will look forward to seeing you!
